Pure Indian Foods is a great company, been using their ghee for cooking and making awesome chicken and soup. Organic Tamarind Paste tastes like a combination of tart cherry with combination of sweet and sour , great for my BBQ chicken and potato soup. The ingredient works well with spicy food or when I make roasted chicken with honey. The package is tightly sealed comes in TWO boxes to preserve the product , that just shows the quality of the company and dedication. Price is not that high since you can use a small amount and still taste it. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to add an extra flavor to their recipes. Will buy again.

I love this but I need more time to get use to using it. It's so hard to find organic so it was great to see. I'm not an expert by any means!! I've eaten them locally/south east Asia once or twice. This tastes a bit more sour than I thought they were - not necessarily a bad thing. I highly recommend you try.

Bought it after hearing about it on a podcast. 1 tsp in a hot liquid daily is said to help clean up the calcification of your pineal gland. I don't know if that is happening or not, but I love the taste and how good it makes me feel.

I wasn't sure what to do with this at first, but since my husband and I often make curries we just started throwing it into everything Thai or Indian, and it's amazing. It adds a nice unexpected flavor. I also loved the packaging it came in (I know, a weird thing to comment on, but I liked it!)

I decided to make my own pad thai instead of buying frozen meals. Tamarind is a large part of the recipe and while it its very sour and unusual tasting and I doubt anyone would eat it out the jar, but when added to pad thai recipe ingredients along with sugar, soy and fish sauce etc it will give an authentic flavour.

Tamarind paste is impossible to obtain in Western Australia, so ordered it from iherb online. I bought it to make a Madras Fish Curry. As a first time attempt, it came out well. I think it would take a few tries to get the blend just right. it’s very helpful to be able to order exotic ingredients from iherb.

High quality great product will last for ages. I understand the reasons for this but the packaging was overkill - glass jar wrapped in plastic inside a cardboard box, then Inside yet another cardboard box like a giant babushka doll

Contains many beneficial nutrients. Comes with brochure containing recipe, tips and suggested pairings. I eat a small tsp sometimes just for the nutrients. Very tart. Great packaging.

This is a very good quality product. Very convenient if you make a lot of recipes that require tamarind paste and want to avoid the hassle of making your own. However, for chutneys (such as tamarind and date chutney), I prefer to use unprocessed tamarind - just my preference.

Amazing convenience for Asian cooking. Tamarind paste is sporadically available even though I live in Asia so I appreciate the good jar package that makes it convenient and always available for our family soups & stir-fries.
